The Story of an Hour

I found this story quite interesting. Are many of us like that? In marriages or binding relationships but wishing to be out of them? Wishing for freedom from the people that we are with? If so, why are we with them?

A concept that is very difficult to understand, I think. How come we commit ourselves to long marriages or relationships and then long to be done with them?

I'm sure that anyone here that is married can understand her feelings. There are times where we wish we were free instead of bound to our spouses'. Yet, when we were free (when we were single) we were yearning for a relationship/marriage.

Life is funny in that way. We always want what we don't have.

I feel that Mrs. Mallard kind of got what she should have. Now she is free!

I agree with that last comment... In a way she DID get what she wanted.... freedom.. albeit a different one then she probably imagined.

Yes, ironic that she she can only find freedom through (someone's) death?
